Remote Pairing & Streaming

SG Music Library can stream your library to another paired device, so you can browse and play your music from somewhere else without copying files around manually. Connections go direct peer-to-peer whenever possible, and automatically fall back to a relay when a direct connection can't be established or held — common on mobile data — so pairing stays reliable away from home.

Pairing a device (Windows/Linux)

Open Setup → Remote Devices…, then Pair New Device…. This opens two tabs:

• Generate Code — the host side. Click Generate Pairing Code to get a 6-digit code, valid for a few minutes.
• Enter Code — the listener side. Enter the 6-digit code shown on the other device to request pairing with it.

Once paired, the host approves or declines the incoming request, and the listener gets an in-app confirmation.

Pairing a device (Android)

The Android app is listener-only — it browses and plays a desktop's library, it doesn't host one of its own. Open the Remote tab, tap Set up Remote Devices, then enter the 6-digit code shown on the desktop's Generate Code tab and tap Pair. Approve the request on the desktop the same way as any other pairing.

Managing paired devices

Setup → Remote Devices… (desktop) or the Remote Devices screen (Android) lists everything you've paired with, including how long ago each one last connected. From here you can remove a pairing, or (desktop only) toggle Browse-Only for devices that don't host a library of their own — this hides the Artist/Album/Genre/Year tree for that device in the sidebar, leaving just its connection status.

Streaming

A paired device appears under Playlists in the sidebar (desktop) or the Remote tab (Android), and its tracks browse the same way as your own local library. Only one track streams at a time per connection, matching the underlying transfer.

Remote pairing and streaming works over the app's own signalling/relay service and doesn't depend on this website — it keeps working even if project-5.com is unreachable.
